A location QR code encodes GPS coordinates or an address in the geo: URI format, or as a Google Maps link if you want more control over the displayed label. Scanning it drops a pin on the user's maps app (Apple Maps on iPhone, Google Maps on Android) and optionally starts navigation. This is invaluable for any business or event where your location is hard to find or isn't yet indexed in mapping databases.
Practical scenarios: a pop-up shop at a non-standard address, a construction site entrance, a park pavilion for an outdoor event, a vacation rental that sits at the end of an unnamed lane. Printing the QR code on event tickets, confirmation emails, or welcome packs means attendees spend less time confused and more time at the actual location.
If precision matters, use GPS coordinates rather than a text address. Coordinates pin the exact spot, whereas addresses can map to the wrong entrance of a large building complex. You can get coordinates from Google Maps by right-clicking any point and selecting 'What's here?' Copy the decimal numbers (e.g., 37.7749, -122.4194) and use them as your location input.
